Fellow - Summer 2024

Job Summary

Leavitt Partners, an HMA company, is seeking current or recent graduate students for our 2024 Summer Fellowship program with Leavitt Partners Collaborative Advocates. This is a 12-week program, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis through March 15, 2024. 

The ideal candidate will be interested in Medicare reimbursement, FDA regulation, public health research, health IT, and health care reform. The Fellow will support client public policy and alliance work and by performing comprehensive online, primary source, and direct-to-source (i.e., agency, congressional, private-sector) research, and by conveying findings to Leavitt Partners Collaborative Advocates team members. The Fellow will assist senior team members with task tracking, document preparation, and other tasks to support client management. All applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Work Performed and Job Requirements

1. Summarize written research and prepare verbal briefings and presentations for client managers
2. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, client-ready work
3. Monitor and identify policy, legislative, and regulatory developments relevant to clients
4. Develop web content for clients and assist managers with client engagements
5. Perform secondary research and participate in directed primary research
6. Gain knowledge of Leavitt Partners products
7. All other duties as assigned.

Education/Training

Law school or recent graduate student focusing on MHA, MBA, public health, health law, public policy, political science, or related fields

Experience

1. 0-2 years of experience
2. Experience in professional research and analysis is preferred 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Excellent research and analysis skills
2. Strong written and oral communication skills
3. Ability to summarize and brief staff on research
4. Commitment to developing subject matter competence in two or more issue areas (CMS reimbursement, FDA regulation, public health, health IT research, and health care reform)

Computer, printer, copier, scanner, fax, telephone, web conferencing.

Working Conditions

Work is sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment. Minimal travel required. Work may be stressful at times. 

Physical/Mental Demands

Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, climbing, and bending to files and supplies; mobility to complete errands; stand/sit for up to eight hours each day; ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone; requires sitting; standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and twisting at times; moderate levels of stress.
